Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself

Since I was a teenager, I fought with my hair.  No, you don’t understand. I have very thick, wavy hair that is not easily styled. Flat iron after flat iron, curler after curler, trial and error.

I know exactly what brands are hot enough and durable enough to tame my head of hair. (I finally spent about $110 dollars on a CHI flat iron my freshman year of college and now swear by it).  

As the years have gone by, I slowly accepted that I’d never have pin straight hair and embraced my curls. Ironically, now at 24, I don’t straighten my hair that often anymore.

When a friend’s sister offered to give me a great deal on a Keratin relaxing hair treatment, I absolutely accepted. Salons charge about $350 dollars for this service. It basically takes the frizz/volume out of your hair and can last up to 3 months if you maintain it properly.

So here it is – the before and after! Can you see the difference? Remember, buy special sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to help the after effects last longer. Normal shampoo will make it wash out much easier.

Overall, my level of frizz has gone way, way down along with the amount of time it takes me to style my hair. My hair is softer and smoother, I’m very happy with the results!
